Nell Greenwood is a teacher, screenwriter and script consultant with over twenty years of experience in screen education and international film and television production.
For the last nine years, Nell has been working at AFTRS. From April 2013 to October 2015 Nell was Head of Screenwriting. Since then, Nell has been the Course Leader for the MA programs and is now Head of Programs. Nell is passionate about screen arts pedagogy and is currently in her final stages of a PhD at Sydney University on Creativity, Flow States and the Unconscious in the Screen Arts.
Nell, working with Ronan Glennane, wrote the story for False Witness for UKTV (Foxtel) that won the AFI for Best Miniseries. Nell and Ronan’s first telefilm Pride and Joy was nominated for Best TV Film at the 46th Monte Carlo TV Film Festival.
Over ten years as a development executive, Nell was development manager for the Irish Film Board, Head of Development for Jude Law and Ewan McGregor’s production company Natural Nylon Entertainment and for Irish producers, Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe’s Element Films in Dublin.
As a script assessor and consultant, Nell has worked with Helen Bowden, Hopscotch and assesses regularly for Screen Queensland.
