Darlene is a Dunghutti woman from Belbrook. She is a Walkley, Australian Directors Guild, International EMMY, AFI, IF and Logie nominated director. The Crocodile Dreaming director started her film directing career with Two Bob Mermaid which went on to win Best Australian Short film at the Australian Film Critics Circle of Australia and Best Short Film at the Asia Pacific Film Festival. Darlene then turned to documentary, writing and directing non fiction including Stolen Generations, Stranger In My Skin; Following the Rabbit-Proof Fence, Gulpilil – One Red Blood, & The Redfern Story. Her episodic direction experience includes Home And Away, The Heights, Neighbours and Born To Spy..She is currently in development for a feature film based on her Bluey which won Best Direction in a Short Film at the Australian Directors Guild.
