This two day, intensive workshop introduces the specialised skills of film and television production accounting to those with little accounting experience.

It is designed to give students an overview of the role of a Production Accountant and managing a production budget from lock off stage to completion.

Over two days students will look at the tasks and requirements of a Production Accountant during Pre-Production, Shoot and Post-Production.

Pre-Production: this includes an outline of the scope of the job as well as the profile of a good production accountant, tasks and requirements include cash flowing, budget management, project set up requirements and understanding finance plans and the production investment agreement, development treatment and cost reporting in the pre-stage

Production: an overview of processing accounts payable, payroll, petty cash, purchase orders along with working relationships, shoot costings is provided along with cost reporting at the shoot stage.

Post production: an outline of tasks and requirements for post-production such as reconciliations, balance sheet finalisation, handovers, audit, offset and post facilities processing are provided for this stage of production as well as final cost report wrap up.

An understanding of film and TV production would be advantageous.

This course is only open to students aged 18 +. If you are under 18, you will not be eligible to attend this course.

The opportunity to connect with attendees who were already in the industry was invaluable.

I think the course is great for people who want to become a production accountant.

Thank you for covering such a large amount of information in a short time. I feel much more confident to step onto a job not going in blind. Really great course - I learnt a lot.
