This two-day, introductory course is designed for screen professionals and storytellers who want to integrate the use of GenAI images and video into their screen content development and creation. You’ll learn to craft effective prompts, understand advanced tools such as img2img, ControlNet, and LoRA, and apply AI confidently in pre- and post-production.
This GenAI prompting course will cover the basics, as well as more advanced techniques, with a focus on empowering participants to be in control of the output and feel confident in their creative ownership of the imagery generated. You will practise a variety of potential use cases for generative image and video.
At the end of this course, you will be able to:
Demonstrate core prompting techniques for generating images and video using GenAI tools.
Translate creative concepts into effective AI-driven visual outputs using screen-industry language
Understand the principles and ethical considerations of using Generative AI in screen production.

Course Delivery & Requirements
GenAI Image & Video Prompting for Screen is delivered in person over two consecutive days, 10am–5pm.
You will need access to a computer with internet access and a modern browser such as Safari, Chrome, Firefox or Edge. Familiarity with editing tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Affinity Suite, GIMP or DaVinci Resolve will assist but is not required.

If a student wishes to withdraw from a course, they may do so up to 15 days before the course commences and get a full refund. Cancellations 14 days or less before course commencement will incur a penalty.
AFTRS reserves the right to cancel any course for any reason at any time. In the event of a course being cancelled by AFTRS prior to commencement a 100% refund or credit note of the course fees paid will be provided.
Should AFTRS need to cancel a course after commencement, but before its completion, reasonable efforts will be made to reschedule. If rescheduling is not feasible, it is at AFTRS sole discretion to issue either full or partial credit notes depending on the circumstances.
