Avinash Chordia

Industry Partnerships Officer

Avinash Chordia is a creative media professional and musician with over 20 years of experience spanning music performance, content production, and industry engagement. He began his career as a drummer in India, gaining national recognition as a founding member of The Supersonics, a pioneering rock band that toured internationally and released two acclaimed studio albums. 

Beyond performance, Avinash served as Creative Producer and Head of Studios at The Peninsula Studios, where he led branded audio-visual projects for clients including Coca-Cola, Nokia, and HCL Technologies. His work involved artist discovery, music supervision, live event production, and the creation of original IPs that fused traditional and contemporary music forms. These experiences reflect his deep commitment to storytelling, collaboration, and cultural innovation. 

Currently, Avinash is the Industry Partnerships Officer at AFTRS, coordinating the national delivery of Industry Partnered Training (IPT) courses across Australia. He plays a key role in stakeholder engagement, inclusive learning practices, and operational innovation. Avinash also ensures that AFTRS’ partnerships with guilds and film festivals are strategically aligned and beneficial to the AFTRS community, fostering opportunities for collaboration, visibility, and professional growth.
