Fyona Smith, AFTRS Head of Radio

Fyona Smith is Head of Radio at The Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS), responsible for the development and delivery of AFTRS Radio and Podcasting courses.

With over 20 years’ experience, Fyona is regularly invited to judge New York Festival’s World Radio Awards, The Australian Commercial Radio Awards and Community Radio Awards and holds a Graduate certificate in Tertiary Teaching.

Fyona has an active interest in podcasting and oversees AFTRS ACAST Podcast Channel, showcasing student work and industry research.

Prior to AFTRS, Fyona produced and presented SCA’s national top rated School of Rock radio show, hosted Southern Cross Television’s, Australian music TV show ‘School of Rock Oz Made’ and held the position of Network Music Director for Triple M Localworks.

Fyona has produced and presented award winning local and national shows and is a multi-Australian Commercial Radio Award winner.
