Short Courses: What's On in September?

News desk set up in AFTRS studios

Ever wanted to go behind the behind-the-scenes of film and television? This Saturday, as part of AFTRS Open Day, we will be pulling back the curtain on screen production, giving you the opportunity to get hands-on and experience what it’s like to be behind-the-scenes in our state-of-the-art studio.

Open Day is our annual access-all-areas event where you can find out how AFTRS can help you launch your career in the creative industries. AFTRS Short Courses play a fundamental role in building your screen and broadcast resume, with training that is industry-focused from experienced, expert practitioners. Whether you’re looking to up-skill or explore a new creative field, our short courses provide a platform for you to gain relevant practical skills and knowledge to help progress your career.

On Saturday, our Short Courses team will be in Studio 2 where you can visit our interactive space. Here you can sit behind the news desk or on Cleopatra’s throne, or check out our behind-the-scenes elements, such as an Arri camera, FS7 and FS5 cameras, lighting, microphones or editing computer. And of course, the all-important director’s chair and clapper will be there for you to pose with.

On hand will be Short Course experts to talk about the studio set-up, equipment, what is used in which courses and answer any questions about our training or the screen and broadcast industry in general. Plus, as an added bonus, there will be an exclusive discount for those that visit Short Courses at Open Day and enrol in a course this weekend, so make sure you swing past and grab your code!

Join us this Saturday and find out which Short Course or AFTRS For Business course is right for your career. From podcasting to production, intro to intensive, check out our range of short courses running in September.
