As a writer, Amy has worked on Netflix/ Hello Sunshine limited series – From Scratch, produced by Reese Witherspoon, starring Zoe Saldana. She is currently developing a new Netflix/ Brad Falchuk (American Horror Story, Pose, Glee) series. On the feature side, her screenplay – Wendi, was on the 2019 Black List and The Hit List. She is also writing a grounded superhero movie for Warner Bros/ 21 Laps (Stranger Things, Arrival), a psychological thriller for Tristar and an original film for Paramount with QC Entertainment (Get Out, Blackkklansman) producing.
Amy directed five episodes of The Birch, a horror series for Facebook Watch and her short film – Unnatural premiered at the prestigious Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival and won Gold at the Young Director Awards at Cannes Lion 2018.
She has participated in the Viacom Viewfinder Directors Program and the Ryan Murphy Half Program, where she shadowed on American Horror Story. Amy is currently working on Crazy Rich Asians 2.
AFTRS HIGHLIGHT
There are so many, but I’d have to say it was the people that made AFTRS so special. Most of us had full time jobs so it was really special to spend our evenings together, knowing we were pushing towards our dreams.
CAREER HIGHLIGHT
Premiering my short film at Clermont Ferrand was pretty insane. I’d never shown anything to such a large audience before and it reminded me of why we pursue filmmaking – it’s about self-expression but it’s also for the people.
