Ready to get hands-on and creative this winter? Put your theory into practice at AFTRS with our selection of Winter Intensives in July. Designed by the industry for the industry, these concentrated, practical intensives present an unparalleled opportunity to gain job-ready skills, knowledge and experience within a short period of time. From the fundamentals of broadcast and lighting, to the basics of camera operation and editing, our state-of-the-art campus is the perfect place to quickly build up your expertise.  

Warm up this winter with our Lighting Intensive course! In just five days, you can learn and implement the essential lighting skills to enhance any story. Understand the impact of natural and artificial lighting, colour temperature, camera filters and techniques, and so much more using our industry-standard equipment in our studios and on location shoots. Taught by acclaimed cinematographer and industry veteran Anna Howard ACS, this week-long block of learning will help you bring your concept to life thanks to the power of lighting. 

Ready to kickstart your career on-screen or on-air? Develop your own unique personality for presenting and vital technical skills – including what to do with your hands – with our TV & Radio Presenting Intensive. This introductory course is perfect for those looking to get started in broadcast media, teaching you industry-standard voice over techniques, best practice for conducting on-camera interviews and how to overcome any on-camera nerves. Your tutors Melissa Femia and Sally Stanton have four decades of experience between them, with posts at Nova 96.9, KIIS 106.5 FM and Channel 7, so you can be sure that you’re learning real industry skills in this fun, interactive intensive. 

Fast-track your content career and bring your ideas to life with AFTRS’ five-day Videomaking Intensive. This hands-on course at campus will equip you with the skills to shoot, edit, and upload your own professional-quality videos. Master cinematographer Gareth Tillson will guide you through the intricacies of the filmmaking process, giving you the opportunity to learn everything from basic camera operation to editing on Adobe Premiere Pro. Become a real content creator and start making premium videos this winter.
