Barry Keohane

Tutor

Barry Keohane is a radio content professional and senior media executive with deep experience in the radio industry. His experience ranges from creating and executing successful radio strategies across multiple formats, talent coaching and development, idea generation, music programming, through to research and education. Barry has worked across all sectors of the industry starting in community radio, then to commercial radio after graduating from AFTRS. Barry also spent time as Content Director with ABC Local Radio.

Barry has worked extensively in South East Asia, successfully launching stations to millions of people in a number of countries. He is a regular speaker at conferences in Asia, and most recently joined the planning committee for Radiodays Asia. Barry is also a regular judge with the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union’s Radio Awards. Most recently Barry was Content Director for Mix 102.3 and Cruise 1323 Adelaide, where he continued his success by leading Mix 102.3 to numerous audience survey wins.

He is currently consulting radio stations in South East Asia and recently started his own Leadership Coaching business after completing both his Diploma in Leadership Coaching and his MBA. Barry is also an accredited DISC Advanced Consultant, working with companies on psychometric profiling to help improve team performance.

Barry is an ACRA winner, a member of MENSA and the International Coaching Federation, and a licensed pilot. Barry has been lecturing with AFTRS for 3 years, and 2021 is Barry’s 4th year as Head Lecturer for the Radio Content Management and Leadership Course.
