Lauren Hulley is an emerging writer/director in their third year of the Bachelor of Arts Screen: Production at AFTRS with an excitement for creating inclusion and harmony through storytelling and leadership.
Lauren grew up on Dharawal Country, bringing their experiences of being a regional student to the Council.
Lauren brings a wealth of knowledge about the experiences of AFTRS’ students to the role. Over their time at AFTRS, Lauren has fully committed themselves to creating a positive student experience through their work on the Student Representative Committee. Elected as the Secretariat, Lauren managed and organised the meetings and paperwork for the committee and its events, organising the SRC Trivia Night and several cross-cohort mixer events.
In their bachelor’s degree thus far, Lauren has served as note taker and script editor for the episodic series Creepy Crawlies Incorporated (2024). They are currently in pre-production for a proof of concept for a queer romantic comedy web-series titled It’s a Girl Thing, which they are writing and directing.
Lauren is eager to bring their perspective and enthusiasm for the school and its students to the Council.
