Christina Alvarez

Christina Alvarez is an experienced arts executive specialising in independent screen and broadcast media. She has a track record in organisation and project management, strategic leadership and creating opportunities for young creatives. Christina is the Director, Partnerships and Development where she is responsible for skills development programs that span Industry, Corporate, Outreach and Schools. Prior to joining AFTRS as Engagement Manager, Christina was the CEO at Metro Screen, providing funding, production and networking support for emerging screen practitioners. Christina has also held the positions of FBi 94.5fm General Manager during the radio station’s establishment years and as the Deputy GM at the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia.  Christina has taught Media Studies at Sydney based universities and holds a Masters in Public Broadcasting Management. She has held board positions with Sydney Film Festival, Audiocraft and Television Sydney.
